So Saturday was Nathan birthday party. Last night I was sleeping hard, recovery from the party but was hit hard with allergies.
So in the middle of the night (3AM) I go to the medicine cabinet and pop an allergy pill. I went back to bed and started thinking that the allergy pill was a bit larger than what I remember, so I go back to the medicine cabinet, look at the individually wrapped pill that I took, note the medical name and look it up online.
It turns out, that I took a pill for insomnia, not allergies!
So my boyz try to wake me up at 8AM, I fall out of bed and try to smile as they wish me happy father's day. I almost fall asleep at church and have my wife drive. Two naps and 14 hours later (5:30PM) I finally feel normal.
At least I am well rested!

Pulling out teeth
Jacob is loosing teeth so fast. He lost one top tooth a few days ago and the other top one is ready to go.
In the middle of one of his construction projects he pulled out a tooth while trying to tear a piece of tape by biting it. The funny part is this was a bottom tooth, he still had the loose top tooth. So he was set on getting this pulled and wanted to try the STRING method.
I tied some dental floss to his top tooth and he walked around for a while playing with the string and tugging on it, but it eventually slipped off. Of course he wanted to try it again. This time I decided to do something slightly different.
I tied the string to the top tooth, and then took the other end of the string and tied it to his right arm. I knew he would eventually forget that his right arm was bound to his tooth and he would pull it out himself. It turns out that 2 minutes later he lost his tooth whem I threw a toy to him to catch.
What memories! Now we get to enjoy the 'TH' lisp he will have for the next few weeks.

Cornbread - the next Aphrodisiac?!?
In the kithcen, my wife was making cornbread in these TINY muffin tins. I asked her what she was up to. Well she has an aviary fill of finches and three breeding pairs of parolets (really small parrots) - she said that since it is Springtime, feeding birds foods rich in protien encourage them to start nesting and breeding.
Anyway, since then, I know I will never think the same about cornbread.

"Daddy, can I use your staple gun?" - that is how my day started today and I love every minute of it!
How many dads get this question from their five year old?
Whenever I work around the house, Jacob is there to help. I know that I work at half speed when he is around because of all the questions I have to answer, and the curiousity he has that tends to get him in trouble - but it is also fun.
My favorite thing is when I ask, "Jacob, can you get me a screwdriver?"
and he says, "Do you want a philips or a flathead?"
I am so blessed!

Accomplishing the Impossible
I
was determined to accomplish what most of my peers deemed impossible. The more difficult it sounded, the more stubborn I became. after I got the plane tickets, there was no turning back. I was going to fly myself and my two boys to Colorado as a sole parent.
I was most concerned for my sanity, my wife was most concerned that I would lose one of our childeren at the Phoenix airport.

Truth be told, I am MOST blessed with how well this trip went. Flying there Jacob was FULL of questions and Nathan was a b it scarred and was glued to my lap on the plane.
As a dad, I could not have asked for a better opportunity to have quality time with my kids - we read so many stories together and rode on the 4 wheeler and got to vist much of my extended family.
We had countless amounts of fun: finding snakes, playing with new toys, and visiting family.
On the way back home we were all exhausted. I have no regrets from taking this trip and hope to do special men things like this again with my boys!

Video sites - YouTube & Google Video
So I was reading up on Pastor Tim's blog and saw that he mentioned my blog and a few others including a cool website created and maintained by Josh Ernestrom, FallForwardFilms.com. I got to thinking, Josh has done some really funny videos and maybe he has others that are not Grace Church related, so I searched you tube and found a little collection: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=fallforwardfilms
I have written a few scripts of my own and videos like these keep me inspired.
That is another thing about all the crazy videos on these sites. Not only do you find something really funny, but you can find things are are extremely stupid. I tell people that if you ever are humbled or feel or depressed you can always look for people doing stuping things on Google Video or YouTube to make yoruself feel better. Here is 2 examples:
Rolling down a hill in a Dell Box
Toaster Chicken
